Clara M. Carlucci Foundation

Training tomorrow's champions today while building strong community.

Mission & Vision

To develop Olympic-level boxing athletes through high-quality experiences and a supported boxing community.

Purpose

The Clara M. Carlucci Foundation (The CMC Foundation) seeks to develop U.S. Olympic athletes by supporting amateur boxers and coaches from Arcaro Boxing Gym and other Washington State boxing gyms so that they can participate in local, national, and international competitions.

All boxing training and competitive opportunities require financial resources for athletes and coaches to attend – this can include the cost of travel, lodging, food, fees, and equipment. Currently, athletes and coaches cover these costs themselves and have only limited opportunities to receive financial support, thus reducing access to quality training and competitive opportunities, especially when these costs are high such as for national competitions. This is particularly true for female athletes, for whom competition can require more frequent and farther travel to find opponents.

The CMC Foundation will provide monetary support for travel, housing, training, equipment, competition fees, and other costs related to developing Olympic-level boxing skills and competition experience for amateur boxers. The CMC Foundation also seeks to increase training and competition opportunities by providing monetary support and sponsorship of boxing events in the Pacific Northwest such as sparring events and boxing competitions. Success will be measured by outputs like the number and quality of boxing training and competitive experiences athletes gain and outcomes like the growth in boxer skills and experience.

Additionally, the CMC Foundation also seeks to build a strong boxing community by supporting community members through mutual aid to cover the costs of unmet needs, such as food, clothing, schooling, and housing among others. Although existing charity, aid, and public benefit programs can meet some of these needs, these resources are also limited and demand is often higher than supply in Seattle and Washington. The Arcaro Boxing Gym and Washington State boxing community members have already worked together to raise funds to support each other’s needs where resources were not available in the past.
